Hello My TruthFC Friends....
Thailand was amazing! It was so good to see first hand how soccer equipment really can open doors for missionaries to share the gospel of Christ!
When my family went to Thailand, we were not just there to give away soccer equipment, we actually worked on a camp in a small village in the hill tribe country of Northern Thailand. The first thing this camp put in was a soccer field! (The soccer field was put in before we got there...) It's the world's game and having a good filed to play soccer on will attract people of all ages to come to the camp, even though they know it is a Christian Camp. Anyway, we worked on the lodge of this camp. We cleared the way for concrete to be laid, laid the concrete and just overall helped get the camp ready for kids. This camp will do after school programs as well as overnight retreats. Very exciting stuff.
TruthFC collected over 200lbs of soccer gear to leave at the camp so that when kids arrive they are able to play. Most kids in the village and surrounding villages, are very poor. They don't have soccer balls or soccer shoes...or any shoes sometimes! So being able to play soccer on a grass field, wearing soccer cleats and kicking a pumped up soccer ball around will be a real blessing for them. And most importantly, when these kids come to camp, they will be around people who love Jesus, who love them and they will learn about the One who came to die for them. They will have the opportunity to discover the one true God who created them and loves them and gives them hope! I think that is pretty awesome and I am so blessed that God gave me the chance to be a part of it!!
I would love love love to tell you more about Thailand. I can come to your house, your church...just about anywhere to show you pictures and tell you how God is moving in a country that lives in darkness. Seriously, only 2% of the population in Thailand know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. So contact me and let's chat!
